With the Fourth of July just around the corner, it’s time to start planning your perfect casual Independence Day look! Actually, I probably should have posted this last week. This one is going out to all of you last minute shoppers 😊 Whether you’re attending a backyard BBQ, watching fireworks with friends, or heading out of town I’ve got the tips and trends you need to create a stylish and on point outfit. Get ready to rock all manner of looks from red, white, and blue accessories to trendy Americana prints. Additionally, sleek holiday style is a winning way to create memorable keepsake photos with your partner….you know they heart that 😊 Let’s dive into creating the perfect casual 4th of July look together!
First and foremost, I know I say this all of the time, and here goes again..Understand the Dress Code. When it comes to dressing for the 4th of July festivities, understanding the dress code is key. Whatever your plans, take a moment to consider the occasion, the location, the vibe of the crowd and the weather. All of these elements are essential in planning your outfit.

If the plans at hand are a casual backyard BBQ with friends and family, opt for comfortable yet stylish attire. Think denim or chino shorts paired with a red or blue polo or short sleeve button down. Short on time? Hit up your go to brands, some of my favs are Howler Bros., Kuhl, and Filson.

If you’re feeling bold, opt for a graphic or printed either top or bottom. Robert Graham and Orlebar Brown do patterns very well. Take caution when mixing prints If you are in a hyper festive state of mind on this election year, accessorize with a traditional or flag-inspired printed bandana. This can be tied around the neck. I will say the bandana print on a shirt or shorts has repeatedly been a popular item on my clients shopping lists.

If you’re invited to a more formal gathering or celebrating in town at a parade or event, consider dressing up your look slightly. Perhaps opt for longer pants and add a sport jacket in seersucker or light summer weight fabric. This will instantly elevate your look. A crisp white shirt with Nantucket red bottoms can strike the perfect balance between relaxed and put-together. Accessorize and finish your look with a straw fedora and sunglasses.

A nautical or RWB belt, the JFK by Kiel James Patrick is a highly versatile piece that can extend well beyond the holiday. If you are opting for the sportscoat, using a bandana as a pocket square is a fun idea.

Packing for a weekend get-away can be little trickier. First things first, don’t forget to check the weather forecast before finalizing your suitcase. There’s nothing worse than being away and not having the right clothing or enough workable options. In addition to shorts, be sure to include a full length pant, and swim suit, go for light layers which are great for unpredictable weather – think a light sweater tied around your shoulders or a versatile denim jacket that can be easily thrown on if needed. Solid denim brands to consider are Joe’s Jeans, 7 For All Mankind, and G-Star. Cargo pockets and a wider leg are holding everyone’s attention at the moment. Rule of thumb one outfit for day, a few dressier evening options and all should inter-relate so that you can mix and match.

Don’t forget about footwear! Choose Birkenstocks or sneakers that you can comfortably walk and mingle in throughout the day. The Reef Swellsoul is a sensational look, these shoes offer maximum comfort and are smart looking. If you setting is leaning on the dressier side, check out the Peter Millar loafer. While accessorizing, never underestimate the power of sunglasses – not only do they protect your eyes from the sun, but they also add a stylish flair to your overall look – Persol and Ray Ban are modern classics 😊
Remember, the goal is to feel confident and relaxed while celebrating Independence Day with loved ones. Keep it simple yet chic by sticking to versatile pieces that you can mix and match effortlessly.

An additional consideration when creating the perfect 4th of July look is to coordinate with your partner. This can truly elevate your style game and make for some unforgettable keepsake photos. Whether you choose to match in complementary colors, coordinate patterns, or simply accessorize together, the key is to have fun and showcase your individual personalities while celebrating this special occasion.

Remember, the 4th of July is not just about fireworks and BBQs; it’s also a time to create lasting memories with loved ones. So, don’t forget to capture those picture-perfect moments! Cheers to creating the perfect July 4th wardrobe! And as always if you are overwhelmed by all of the options out there, don’t hesitate to reach out!
